Brandon, MB––November 24, 2022: Impersonating famous brands, scammers send out fake emails and text messages containing phishing links and try to entice you into opening them with various lies
These phishing links will often lead users to online survey pages that states users can claim a gift by filling out an online questionnaire.
Intuit recommended a complex password be chosen for files containing sensitive data such as social security numbers, credit card numbers and employers’ identification numbers.
In case of a forgotten password, E-Tech recommends using the QuickBooks Password Reset tool.
Intuit stated on its website that while scams come in different forms, they often look pretty convincing. The company recommended customers consider a few things if they’re not sure an email came from Intuit, such as it will never ask for personal information in an email, and the emails always come from addresses ending with @intuit.com and @e.intuit.com.
Implementing the right range of cyber security solutions can help to protect common points of penetration for cybercriminals – such as email filtering, Multi-factor authentication, automated password and user ID policy enforcement and comprehensive access and password management.
