July 8, 2025 — San Diego, California – World changemakers, entrepreneurs, and cycling pair Lady JB Owen (55) and Peter Giesin (57) are now officially world record holders as the first married couple to cycle the entire Baja Peninsula—north to south and south to north—on a tandem bike.

The record is a powerful step on their way to 2025, as they enter the United States through San Diego on their daring 80-day, 9,000 km tandem cycling adventure from Cabo San Lucas to Homer, Alaska, as part of their international movement Cycle to Ignite Humanity.
Following a Legacy of Record-Breaking Cycling Tours
This is hardly the first epic cycling adventure for them. In 2020, JB and Peter pedaled from Calgary to Ottawa, igniting the first pedal-powered chapter of their work. In 2021, they overcame a 6,500 km trip from Calgary to the Top of the World Highway in the Yukon and back again, traversing some of the most isolated land in North America. In 2022, they accomplished an entire coast-to-coast trip in Canada, pedaling 10,000 km from Vancouver to Newfoundland. Then in 2023, they took it further—riding Calgary to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 34 days, a staggering display of endurance, harmony, and passion.

Their present ride spans 93,000 meters (305,000 feet) of climb—the height of climbing Mount Everest a total of ten times—over three nations and twisting through a multitude of communities.
