Digital Art Pioneer Vasily Popov Announces Development of the World Garden of Poetry Cultural Project
Poet and digital artist Vasily Popov has announced the development of a new cultural and technological initiative titled “World Garden of Poetry.” The project will combine physical space, digital technologies, and blockchain infrastructure to preserve and present the legacy of world poetry through an immersive cultural environment.
The initiative is being developed as a hybrid cultural platform where nature, poetry, and digital innovation intersect. According to the project concept, the space will feature a landscaped garden in which each tree will be dedicated to a major poet from world literature. Visitors will be able to listen to recorded poems and learn about literary heritage through digital interfaces and interactive installations.

Background: Digital Art and Space Technology Experiment
The announcement follows Popov’s earlier experimental work at the intersection of art and technology. In 2022, an artwork from his “Entities Meta” digital collection was sent to orbit as part of a space mission.
On March 18, 2022, the spacecraft Soyuz MS-21 launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome carrying the artwork as an onboard art object. The piece remained aboard the International Space Station for approximately six months before returning to Earth.
Following the mission, the artwork “Space” was exhibited as part of the exhibition “The Art of the Possible” at the Central Museum of Communications in Saint Petersburg. The exhibition explored the interaction between art, science, and advanced technologies.

The “World Garden of Poetry” initiative is intended to expand Popov’s work at the intersection of poetry, visual art, and digital technologies. The project aims to create a new type of cultural environment where literary heritage is preserved and experienced through modern technological platforms.
Each section of the garden will represent thematic areas of poetry such as love, nature, and philosophy. Digital audio installations and blockchain-based archival elements will allow visitors to access poetic works and related materials.
