They both quickly spiral into a journey of survival, identity, and moral reckoning.
Drawing from his personal experience as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and his deep academic knowledge of Japanese history, Nelson creates a world that is as intellectually rich as it is emotionally raw. The novel, which charges forward with the breakneck energy of a live punk show, explores the core need people have to find out who they truly are and how it requires a complete divorce from all the false notions they hold about themselves.
