Founded in 2010 by the Dogan Family, Houseware Thrift Store has deep roots in both Istanbul, Turkey, and Old Saybrook. The Dogan family—John Dogan, Izzet Dogan, Nuray Dogan, and Cemre Dogan—are first-generation immigrants who have been living in Connecticut since 2002. Before starting their antique and jewelry store, the family operated a clothing store in Istanbul called HIM Kids. Now, their passion for antiques and fine jewelry has led them to build a new legacy in the U.S., aiming to reshape the industry with their personal touch.
