King Newswire

London, United Kingdom, 30th Mar 2023, King NewsWireProminent entrepreneur and co-founder of Edu Tech company, Unibuddy announced a shift to Climate Tech by joining the BX technology company as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The technology expert who helped over 1.5 million students through Unibuddy plans to promote sustainability by helping millions of farmers store more carbon than they produce through technology and innovative strategies. The young technology entrepreneur plans to revolutionize agricultural practices by incorporating technology to promote sustainability.

Poor technology choices have been one cause of the drastic climate crisis in the world today. In the current situation, developing key climate technologies has become essential for the world. However, little progress has been made in climate tech sectors to avoid some of the worst consequences of climate change. Climate tech has become a hotly debated topic in recent years, with many established and startup companies focusing on developing new technologies to restore the planet for future generations. For organizations looking forward to finding a way out of climate change, there are visionary people behind the screen pulling the strings. People like the founder of Unibuddy, Kimeshan Naidoo.

Born in the sugar-producing district of South Africa, Tongaat, Kimeshan Naidoo is a computer scientist and technology entrepreneur. He is the CTO at BX, a tech company that works on restoring the planet by creating technologies that help farmers store more carbon than they produce. The company’s goal is to make food more sustainable. Naidoo joined BX’s executive team in January 2023 in London, England, and sits on its advisory board. The company specializes in Farming, Climate Tech, Ag Tech, and Regenerative Agriculture. Before joining BX, Naidoo co-founded Unibuddy in 2016.

Naidoo had a vision when he embarked on his journey as a CTO of BX like he had a vision when he co-founded Unibuddy. The idea that led Naidoo to Unibuddy was to help prospective students make better and more conscious decisions about their enrollment into a university on a national and international level. What led Naidoo to join BX was the possibility of solving one of the hardest and most urgent problems that need to be tackled: fixing our food supply chain.

On a global scale, food systems require swift and profound transformation to become sustainable. Sustainable food systems connect the environment, society, and economy. To help inspire the food system, Naidoo has shifted his focus to working on climate change. In the second chapter of his career as the CTO at BX, Naidoo has been keen on reducing and removing emissions from food production. BX works with farmers and retailers to create a food system that rewards environmental practices and incentivizes change. The platform exchanges knowledge with farmers to switch to carbon-positive farming utilizing the newest regenerative farming technologies by projecting future effects.

BX’s SaaS platform and technology provide farmers with field-specific guidance to transition to climate-positive methods. Farm data from around the world helps generate the information required to improve future crop yields and soil quality resulting in more sustainable produce.

The debate over organic vs. conventional farming has long been making rounds. The conversation about organic agriculture has moved from its lack of chemicals to its impact on greenhouse emissions. However, The BX platform develops methods to reward farmers who have a beneficial environmental influence.

While Naidoo is fully focused on building technology at Bx, he is also excited to see Unibuddy expand despite being no longer involved in the company’s day-to-day operations. The goal of Unibuddy, according to Naidoo, was to bring the power of peer-to-peer decision-making to the higher education student decision-making process, which Naidoo himself had to deal with. Many students struggle with a lack of knowledge about a university. Unibuddy has helped over 1.6 million students make better higher education decisions. Naidoo believes the company will help 10 million students by 2026.

Kimeshan Naidoo’s role as the CTO at BX can be regarded as another step on his journey to impacting a billion people or more. He previously started with his ambition when founding Unibuddy. The shift to Climate Tech and joining BX as the CTO will enable Naidoo to promote sustainable agriculture practices while helping millions of farmers minimize carbon emissions through technology.
