This month, Los Angeles has started accepting cryptocurrencies for state services, and the LA Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has become the first US government entity to make a crypto payment.
The Louisiana government received its first-ever crypto payment after the State Treasurer confirmed that residents of Louisiana can now pay for specific state services using cryptocurrencies. Louisianians have the option to perform transactions using any crypto wallet, pay with Bitcoin (BTC), currently down by $62,413, and check out the Bitcoin Lightning Network and the US dollar-pegged stablecoin USD Coin (USDC), which is down to $1.00, according to Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming in a statement made on September 17.
