Zubayr Shahid, the CEO of NobleMarriage has commented about their recent social media campaign #MarriageOverDating – “Living with someone to figure out whether that person is the perfect match for marriage, has become a common practice in the West and it is increasingly becoming a trend among the Eastern nations too. Many people falsely consider it to be easier to know someone by dating for weeks, months or even years.”
He further added, “When it comes to real life, individuals who used to date before marriage, have a relatively higher divorce percentage, than the ones who got married traditionally without dating. Not surprisingly, people who date each other via online dating sites, have the highest divorce percentage. And in reality, a lot of Muslim marriage sites are just de facto online dating sites.”
When asked about how the campaign would benefit the participants, the CEO mentioned, “Well, first of all, it is a campaign to raise awareness. Besides, we have planned to give surprise gifts to the participants. All you have to do is to post a picture with the hashtag #MarriageOverDating on a postcard or piece of paper. Our campaign team will do a screening and reward certain number of participants.”
Imran Ibn Noor, a supporter from UAE shared, “Marriage is a gift for spouses to lead a life of tranquility and compassion together. Spouses are meant to be each other’s companions who share a bond that is secure.”
Another supporter Jamal Hamid from United States shared, “In marriage, spouses protect, as well as beautify one another. Truly that is a lifetime commitment for both spouses which will lead to the joy and comfort in marriage itself. This is a great campaign to promote marriage.”
The campaign has received most responses from India and Bangladesh amongst some other countries.
