Stewart T. Monti Sr., born in 1951 in Bland, Virginia, draws upon a diverse life that includes military service, aviation, and academic instruction. He retired as a Major in the United States Air Force with thousands of flight hours, earned two master’s degrees, and served as an adjunct instructor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Monti published his first poetry collection, 135 Poems for Today, in 2017. His 2023 work, Mary and Sir Edward, represents a shift toward extended verse that combines historical narrative with lyrical storytelling.
