Los Angeles, California, United States, 1st Oct 2022, King NewsWire – It’s 12:30 – high noon and The Peggy Beatrice Foundation volunteers begin to set up the tables in the blazing 101-degree temperature on 5th & Towne in DTLA Skid Row.
For over a decade The Peggy Beatrice Foundation has been providing hope and stability for those who are less fortunate throughout the SkidRow area of Downtown Los Angeles.
Through its “Serve-A-Soul” program the foundation has made a substantial difference in the lives of many of the city’s homeless population by providing them with hot meals each Tuesday helping to quell the overwhelming hunger of more than 300 people every week.
In addition to nourishing meals, PBF also provides those in need with clothing, personal hygiene kits, prayer and takes necessary time to engage with individuals to provide much needed hope and encouragement which help them through their tough times.
As the economy has struggled with inflation, the losses of jobs and rising housing costs, more people have found themselves in less than desirable situations, which has prompted the Peggy Beatrice Foundation to partner with LA Care, Amazon Studios, Chatman Advisory Services and others to increase its contributions in providing resources to the community,
The Founder, Pierre Johnson, recently held a celebrity basketball game which featured the likes of Terrell Owens, Tabitha Brown, Dahntay Jones, Will Catlett, Bresha Webb and many more to provide much needed entertainment to help the community find comfort during these difficult times.
In addition to providing meals and entertainment, The Peggy Beatrice Foundation has partnered with the 118th Street Elementary School to provide a myriad of activities including their Backpack to School Drive, Thanksgiving “Love Baskets,” sponsoring 20 families for Christmas and much more…
PBF has been featured in the local KTLA news and other media publications for their direct involvement throughout the community.
