Keka Launches Deep Payroll and Finance Infrastructure for Global Companies Managing Complex Workforce Operations

As companies expand across multiple geographies, payroll operations often become more complex, especially when managing compliance, reporting, and non-standard payroll transactions.

For many organizations managing distributed teams, payroll challenges often emerge through off-cycle payments, amendments, third-party sick pay, and balancing entries that may not appear consistently across payroll records. These gaps can create reconciliation issues for HR and finance teams.

Keka has introduced several updates focused on payroll activity visibility, compliance-oriented pay documentation, and expanded benefits configuration capabilities for US employers.

Expanded Payroll Activity Visibility

Keka’s US payroll system now captures a broader range of payroll activity types within payroll records. Previously, certain transaction categories, including off-cycle runs, amendments, third-party sick pay, and balancing entries, were not consistently reflected in payroll summaries used during reconciliation processes.

With the latest updates, payroll records now include these transaction types alongside regular payroll cycles, providing finance and HR teams with a more consolidated view of payroll activity for a given pay period.

Updated Pay Stub Structure for Compliance Requirements

Several US states require employers to include leave balance and earnings-related information on employee pay stubs. Inconsistent or incomplete documentation can create compliance challenges during audits or employee disputes.

Keka has updated pay stubs for US employees to include a dedicated Time-Off section displaying accrued, used, and available leave balances directly on payslips. Year-to-date values are also aligned with payroll earning categories to improve consistency between payroll records and employee-facing documentation.

These updates are intended to help organizations managing payroll across multiple states maintain more standardized payroll documentation practices.

Additional Benefits Configuration Options

US employers often manage multiple benefits plans with different tax treatments and contribution structures. When certain plan types are unavailable within HR systems, administration may need to be handled externally.

Keka has expanded the range of benefits plans that employers can configure within the platform. Newly added options include supplemental insurance plans under Section 125, such as cancer, accident, critical illness, and hospital coverage plans.

Additional retirement and finance-related options now include 457(b), Roth 457(b), and Roth SIMPLE IRA plans with corresponding contribution and tax configuration settings.

Employers can configure these plans within the system based on their internal policies and requirements.

Focus on Payroll and Workforce Operations

The latest updates reflect continued development in payroll operations, compliance documentation, and benefits administration across the US, India, and GCC markets.

For organizations managing payroll operations across multiple geographies, handling non-standard payroll transactions, compliance-related documentation, and benefits administration within a centralized system can help reduce operational complexity for HR and finance teams.
