Mobilite Mayotte Quebec: A New Bridge of Opportunity Between Mayotte and Québec

Canada, 19th Apr 2025 – Abasse Twalal Harouna, founder and president of Mobilite Mayotte Quebec, proudly announces the launch and expansion of a visionary project aimed at creating life-changing opportunities for young people from Mayotte. With a mission rooted in empowerment, education, and cultural exchange, Mobilite Mayotte Quebec is more than just an organization—it is a movement designed to connect dreams with possibilities.

Abasse Twalal Harouna having personally experienced the challenges of geographic isolation, limited resources, and the complexities of integrating into a new environment, has transformed these obstacles into a purposeful mission. “I initiated this project with a deep vision,” Harouna states, “to create a space of opportunity for young Mahorais, while strengthening the cultural, educational, and economic ties between Mayotte and Quebec.”

Mobilite Mayotte Quebec addresses a pressing issue: many young Mahorais are ambitious and eager to pursue advanced education and meaningful careers, yet systemic barriers continue to hinder their progress. These barriers include a lack of information about academic and job opportunities abroad, complex administrative hurdles related to international mobility, and cultural adaptation challenges in foreign contexts.

The organization’s mission is built upon three core pillars:

  1. Facilitating Access to Higher Education: Mobilite Mayotte Quebec offers personalized support for Mahorais youth navigating the application processes for universities and cégeps (junior colleges) in Quebec. The organization simplifies administrative procedures and provides practical guidance to ease the transition.

  2. Supporting Cultural and Social Integration: Through partnerships with local institutions, intercultural workshops, and a dedicated support network, the organization helps students adapt to their new environment while celebrating and preserving their Mahorais identity.

  3. Promoting Professional Integration and Economic Exchange: By collaborating with Quebec-based companies and local employers, Mobilité Mayotte Quebec builds employment pathways for Mahorais youth and fosters their active contribution to the local economy.

This transformative initiative is founded on values such as solidarity, mutual respect, and excellence. Harouna emphasizes, “We firmly believe that every individual—regardless of origin or background—deserves an equal chance to succeed and to contribute positively to society.”

Mobilite Mayotte Quebec represents a new chapter of cooperation and mutual growth between Mayotte and Quebec. It seeks to turn youth aspirations into concrete realities, building bridges between two complementary cultures and inspiring a new generation of leaders ready to take on the challenges of the modern world.

“As founder, I remain fully committed to this vision,” Harouna concludes, “and I will continue working hand in hand with partners, families, and the youth to build a promising future.”
