50 international companies from 19 countries engaged in business matching activities with Thai companies representing the digital content industry – television production, film production, animation, and post–production. This resulted in estimated revenues of over 16.8 million dollars.
This is the third year that the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, has organized the MOVE event, which is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to support Thailand’s digital content industry.
From 1st to 3rd August 2022, 206 online meetings were held, between 30 Thai companies and 50 international companies.
These resulted in pending deals valued at over 185,000 USD, with estimates of a further 2.4m USD revenue to be generated within the next 19 months, and 11m USD within five years.
Most revenue was generated through licensing of television and film rights. Japan, China, the United States and South Korea were the countries most represented at the MOVE event.
Another component of MOVE 2022, was the Thai Pitching event, where Thai production start–ups were invited to present their projects to the international market. Representatives of 15 companies from eight countries attended the digital session, including prominent television and film producers and film festival representatives. Projected revenue from this event totalled over 3 million USD.
