Blacktivity to Launch as First Black-Owned Nonprofit Streaming Platform Centered on BIPOC Creators

The equity-first streaming service provides 50–60% share of ad revenue, solo creator tools, and an expanding slate of original BIPOC programming—all for a purpose to rebuild the creator economy from scratch.
Launch Date Scheduled for August 30, 2025 in Baltimore
Baltimore, Maryland, United States, 12th July 2025 – Blacktivity will go live on August 30, 2025, launching the first Black-owned nonprofit streaming platform developed specifically for Black and BIPOC creators. Built to create ownership, equity, and access, the platform seeks to redefine the creator economy by providing an ad-supported model that invests back into the community.

Developed by Visionaries Devin L. White and Ngozi T. Robinson
Blacktivity was founded by media executive Devin L. White and nonprofit strategist Ngozi T. Robinson. The company offers a fresh model where creators are treated as partners instead of content providers. The service is free to audiences and splits ad revenue up to 60% with creators, depending on exclusivity and engagement measures.
Original Programming and Backend Technology for Discoverability
Alongside curated buys, Blacktivity will launch original programming such as scripted shows, documentaries, and feature films. A custom backend provides seamless user access and high-performing advertising delivery while enabling content discoverability through robust metadata and promotion tools.
A Cultural and Economic Infrastructure for Creators
“Blacktivity is not just a streaming platform—it’s an economic and cultural infrastructure,” stated co-founder and executive director Devin L. White. “We are creating a place where underrepresented creatives can engage fully—not just in visibility, but in ownership and revenue.”
Flexible Licensing and Creator Tools to Maximize Impact
The platform provides exclusive and non-exclusive licensing choices to allow creators flexibility in monetization. Creators are incentivized to share trailers, high-quality images, and comprehensive metadata to promote discoverability and retention.
Breaking Barriers for Underrepresented Storytellers
Our model was designed to eliminate the conventional walls that tend to shut out gifted storytellers,” said co-founder and executive director Ngozi T. Robinson. “We believe in empowering voices that hold vision, richness, and healing. This platform is a reaction to the systemic chasms that have traditionally denied them.”
Public Launch Event at CFG Bank Arena
The official public launch will occur at a launch event at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore on August 30, 2025.
Physical Creative and Wellness Hubs for Lasting Impact
As part of its multi-faceted approach, Blacktivity will also launch a physical creative and wellness resource center, providing access to studio space, training, and mental health care in select markets.
501(c)(3) Model Dedicated to Reinvestment in Creators
Blacktivity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that donates 100% of its annual surplus to creator funding through:
- Microgrants and production funds
- Masterclasses in industry skills and career advancement
- Low-cost access to professional-level studio facilities
All initiatives are crafted to bolster long-term viability for future and established creatives of the BIPOC umbrella.
