Two Northumberland sisters are on a mission to make life’s toughest moments easier to talk about, and they’re using sweary candles, sassy socks, and feminist stationery to do it.
Laughing Sisters Launch Gifts
United Kingdom, 2nd Oct 2025 – This October, in support of Menopause Awareness Month, Natalie and Steph, co-founders of the Northumberland-based indie gift brand Laughing Sisters, are launching their new Mood-Lifting Menopause Gifts collection, featuring funny and thoughtful presents designed to spark joy, solidarity, and conversation.
“Menopause can be isolating,” says Natalie. “Our gifts give people a way to say ‘I see you’ without clichés or pity. Laughter makes facing a challenge like going through the menopause that bit easier.”
Brand Origin And Mission
The idea for Laughing Sisters was born after Steph was hospitalized with a rare autoimmune condition, MOG antibody disease, which forced her to close her personal training business. What started as a coping mechanism, texting jokes from a hospital bed, grew into a mission to create gifts that celebrate resilience, humour, and the strength of women.
Laughing Sisters now stock a wide range of products, including mood-lifting menopause candles (“For hot flushes & hotter comebacks”), empowering feminist socks (“Strong women raise each other up”), and sarcastic stationery (for work wives, colleagues, and badass friends).
