National Association of Worksite Health Centers Rebrands as the National Association for Workplace Health Care
The National Association of Worksite Health Centers has officially announced a strategic rebrand and structural expansion, adopting a new name: The National Association for Workplace Health Care (NAWHC). This significant evolution reflects the organization’s broadened mission to champion, support, and advance all value-based, comprehensive health and well-being solutions situated at or near the worksite. The rebrand acknowledges a shifting corporate landscape that increasingly integrates employer-sponsored health centers with direct contracting for specialized provider services.

As the complexities of the medical landscape grow, the updated identity underscores NAWHC’s steadfast commitment to advancing a much wider array of employer-driven healthcare initiatives. While the organization will continue to rigorously support its foundational pillars of onsite, near-site, mobile, and virtual health centers, it is substantially expanding its focus. The association’s scope now explicitly covers direct contracting for primary care, centers of excellence, specialty services, physical therapy, pharmacy, surgical care, advanced imaging, and various other ancillary services.
“Our new name and scope recognize the evolution of employer-managed health care and the need for all types of plan sponsors—public and private employers, unions, and others—to understand how to get greater accountability and value from their investment of health benefit dollars,” stated Larry Boress, Executive Director of NAWHC.
This strategic pivot is designed to deeply empower employers, vendors, and provider members who are actively seeking a wider spectrum of cost-effective, high-quality health solutions. Through this expansion, NAWHC members will immediately benefit from augmented networking opportunities, advanced educational programming, comprehensive benchmarking data, and access to an extensive repository of resources. Furthermore, the organization will deliver deeper research topics, strategic insights, and actionable recommendations tailored to modern, value-based health care delivery systems.
Industry leaders and current members have praised the timely evolution of the organization. David Hines, former Executive Director of Employee Benefits for Metro Nashville Public Schools, emphasized the historical and future value of the association, stating, “NAWHC has been key to our development of onsite healthcare over many years—we welcome this new evolution to help employers address a more diverse approach to keep pace with the changes in healthcare delivery.”
Dawn Carey, Senior Director of Perdue HealthWorks at Perdue Farms, also highlighted the strategic alignment of the rebrand. “The NAWHC rebrand will be critical in expanding market reach, all while aligning with new members’ strategic goals and initiatives,” she said.
As the recognized authority in the employer-sponsored health space, the National Association for Workplace Health Care remains committed to guiding its members toward optimal employee health outcomes and reduced medical spending. By fostering an environment of innovation and shared best practices, NAWHC positions itself squarely at the forefront of the workplace health care movement.
