NuCalm Partners with Lady JB Owen & Peter Giesin to Fuel World-Record Cycling Expedition for Global Education
NuCalm®, the world’s first patented neuroscience technology for stress and recovery, is sponsoring tandem cyclists Lady JB Owen and Peter Giesin as they near completion of a 9,100 km ride from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to Homer, Alaska. The record-setting expedition, part of Cycle to Ignite Humanity™, raises awareness and funds for building Inspiration Classrooms™, solar-powered, eco-conscious schools that provide clean water, sanitation, and education in underserved communities. With NuCalm powering their recovery and resilience, JB and Peter are on track to achieve two World Records: the greatest elevation gained on a tandem ride (305,000 ft) and the longest tandem journey from Baja to Alaska.
Neuroscience Meets Endurance: A Partnership for Global Impact
Cutting-edge neuroscience meets world-class endurance as Lady JB Owen and Peter Giesen pedal 9,100 km for global education.
Journey Across North America for Education Access
In an extraordinary convergence of neuroscience and humanitarian endurance, NuCalm®, the world’s first patented, clinically proven neuroscience technology for stress and recovery, proudly sponsors tandem cyclists Lady JB Owen and Peter Giesin as they near completion of a 9,100 km journey across North America in support of global education access.
Riding for More Than Records
This isn’t just a bike ride, it’s a movement. Lady JB and Peter’s record-setting expedition is part of Cycle to Ignite Humanity™, a campaign to raise awareness and funding for building Inspiration Classrooms™, eco-conscious, solar-powered modular schools designed to transform underserved communities.
Already completed in Indonesia and Cambodia, these classrooms provide access to clean water, sanitation, and sustainable, modern education. Every kilometer they pedal fuels a greater mission: to ignite change through education and lay the foundations of hope, knowledge, and opportunity where it’s needed most.
“This mission is about more than the miles,” says Lady JB. “It’s about showing what’s possible when you live with purpose and ride for something bigger than yourself.”
The Science Behind the Success
NuCalm is rooted in decades of neuroscience research, using a proprietary blend of bio-signal processing, neuroacoustic software, and transdermal stimulation to quickly shift the body out of a “fight-or-flight” state and into a deeply restorative parasympathetic mode.
Its four core systems: Rescue, Focus, Ignite, and DeepSleep, optimize the brain and body’s performance without stimulants or sedatives. Within minutes, users experience reduced cortisol levels, accelerated muscle recovery, deeper sleep, and increased mental clarity.
In the case of long-distance endurance athletes like JB and Peter, this technology becomes more than wellness; it becomes survival.
“I use NuCalm every single day to reset my muscles and ease the stress on my body,” says Peter Giesin, who is cycling through 300,000+ ft of elevation this summer. “On hard days, that 20-minute power nap from NuCalm gets us back on the bike and continuing. It’s not just recovery, it’s momentum.”
How NuCalm Enhances Cycling Endurance
From the blazing heat of Baja to the mountain passes of British Columbia, the physical and mental toll of this ride is extreme. NuCalm® helps them balance their nervous systems, lower stress, and sustain stamina.
For over two years, the couple has used NuCalm daily to regulate sleep, speed recovery, and stay mentally focused through grueling conditions. Its technology has amplified their training, resilience, and performance, making the impossible not just achievable, but sustainable.
“NuCalm is a staple in all my success, on and off the bike,” says Lady JB.
Already Making Cycling History
In 2024 and 2025, JB and Peter became the first tandem cycling couple to complete the Baja Peninsula in both directions. Now, they’re poised to achieve two more World Records:
- Most elevation gained on a tandem ride (305,000 ft—the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest ten times)
- Longest tandem journey from the southern tip of Baja to Alaska
